Professor Gail S. Goodman, the Distinguished Professor of Psychology and Director of the Center for Public Policy Research is at the University of California Davis. She is widely acknowledged for her pioneering the science of the eyewitness memory of children and utilizing child victims to testify as legal witnesses. Professor Goodman published widely and has won many grants and was awarded many national and international distinctions. She has advised many authorities and government agencies around the globe on policies and research relating to the treatment of children victims by the legal system. She serves as a consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center which was previously known as the Multidisciplinary Interview Center of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She holds memberships in many professional associations, including the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. Professor. Goodman is a fellow of the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She was President of the American Psychological Association Divisions for Child and Family Policy as well as Practice Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology.
